Wishlist: Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein

The moment I saw this dress online (or in Nylon, I don’t remember exactly) I knew it would look amazing on! Well behold, I tried it on at Macy’s and it is lovely! I love how its very sleek and sophisticated. It shows off the person wearing the dress and not vice versa.Unfortunately the fabric is very thin and since the dress has a very revealing back I cant figure out what kind of bra to wear with it. I suppose the do have those backless bras, but that seems like a hassle. Maybe if the dress goes on sale I shall buy it….But I definitely recommend it! Personally I prefer the black and white shades because they really work with the minimalist design!

Best Dressed: Sky Ferreira at Cannes

Do not fret readers! I know deep down in your hearts you have missed my excessive posts on the lovely Sky Ferreira! So, Sky gets my pick of the week for best dressed (ok, fine Ive actually never done “best dressed of the week” posts before)! But anyways, Sky Ferreira looked amazing in her high necked, black leather dress. Yes, the boots might not be in everyone’s taste, but hey! She can pull it off. Totally cool, totally unexpected. Not to mention, she looked great with her hair pulled back and sporting a grey smoky eye.

Hey girl:) I'm the girl that asked about your hair and i wanted to say thank you for the post! I just saw it now. Really great! You really have good style overall. I was wondering how tall are you? How did you get into the modeling business because i have an interest in modelig as well and i know the first step for me is to take polaroid photos and send them out to angencies? And who are some of your favorite models? Xx

Asked by: Anonymous

Hello, I’m glad you saw the hair post :) I’m 5’9”, usually for modeling you have to be at least 5’8”(but taller is better). I agree that a great way to try to get into modeling would be to send some pictures to an agency. You can also find out what agencies are in your city and then go to a casting call for them (that’s what I did). If you do this be sure to bring a couple of simple pictures (face, full body) photos with you. Hmm, It’s pretty hard to choose my favorite models, but a few lovely ones are Lara Stone, Barbara Palvin, Charlotte Free (love her pink hair and she even has her on tumblr), Lindsay Wixson, Karlie Kloss (best runway walk), and Georgia May Jagger (ok, I could list more but that would be annoying haha).

Review: Incoco Dry Nail Applique

I finally tried some dry nail polish strips today (only because I got some for free from Seventeen Magazine, but hey) and I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied. The strips were pretty hard to put on because some of them were almost dried, which mean’t you couldn’t properly bend them at the tip (to remove the excess). The strips also weren’t fitted perfectly to my nails so I have a feeling they aren’t going to stay on for a very long time. All in all, personally I would not recommend the strips from this brand. But since these are the only polish strips I’ve tried I’m going to give the Sally Hanson ones a whirl and see how those work out!

Looks for Less: Cara Delevinge

It’s no secret that models often have some of the best street style around ( which may just be because they look so gorgeous with their long limbs) and Cara Delevinge is no exception! I’m digging this edgy and simple look which features her crazy after show hair, a graphic t-shirt, and lots of leather. It’s nothing show stopping but it’s a great example of how to do a casual yet put together look. I found some articles of clothing on the web so that you can recreate this at home:

1. Grey skinnies $10.80 at Forever21.com

2. Graphic Tee $40.00 at http://shop.thecobrasnake.com/collections/the-cobrasnake

3. Black Motorcycle jacket $173.95 at Asos.com

4. Buckled suede boots $74.99 at Aldo.com

Water Baby

Today I went to the local lake with one of my best friends (it was finally warm out) which got me thinking how much I really want a new bikini/swimsuit! So I  scoured the world wide web for great summer picks for you guys! I’m especially loving minimalist designs with cutouts right now!

1. Sleek in white

$155.00 at Nasty Gal “The Local Swimsuit”

This swimsuit reminds me of those 007 Bond girls, pretty sexy but not overtly done up.

2. Retro in Gingham

top- $117.00 at Nordstroms “Seafolly Gingham Bikini top”

I saw this bikini at Nordstrom’s and instantly fell in love! How adorable is the  corset like gingham top? I would absolutely buy this but its pretty pricey and so I’m still considering my options!

3. Sporty Fresh

$52.19 at ASOS.com “ASOS Scuba Zip Front swimsuit”

Neoprene is hot this summer and there’s no better way to get in on the trend than scuba inspired swimwear. This orange number from ASOS has a open back to add to the hassle free edge.

4. Feminime in lace

Top-$22.61 at ASOS.com “Off Shoulder Underwired Bikini top with Broderie detail”

There’s no better way to spend the summer than looking like a white bikini bombshell! This bikini reminds me of Guess and is really girly and totally approachable…

Dark Shadows

Here’s my outfit of the day. Honestly I didn’t have a sudden urge to wear practically all black, but i just threw this together (had to hurry out the door) and I think it turned out pretty well! It’s a tad dark for May but hey its not like its 70 degrees outside. Also felt like wearing some darker lip gloss because of last nights Met Gala (the darker lip wear was popular). Oh and I’m sorry for wearing these shoes in like every outfit post, it’s time for me to get some new high heeled stompers!

Best Dressed: Met Gala 2012

As always, the Met Costume Institute Gala was a gathering of beautiful people wearing beautiful clothes. I feel like the fashion at this event far surpasses the evening wear at events such as the Oscars. Plus, theres always the gorgeous models that walk among the pop stars and actresses. Here are my picks for best dressed of the evening:

Lana del Rey looks like a vampy seductress wearing a silver sweatheart neckline dress and a black cape! Very old hollywood glamour, but more on the lines of 1930’/1940’s than the usual 1950’s!

Gwyneth Platrow looks sleek and youthfull in this silk mini from Prada. There may be a tad too much side cleavage, but it’s nothing she can’t carry off…

How adorable is Emma Stone in this floral applique knee lenght dress?! You cant get much cuter than this, especially with the messy updo. Plus, she just looks gorgeous in general.

Feathers have been done many times before, but I feel like Kate bosworth is wearing the trend really well. The shape of the dress is a little different and the updo gives it that model’esque vibe. Not to mention, the ombre effect is pretty edgy.

The man in the scorpion jacket

There are very few movies that I love from the first viewing, but “Drive” is one of them! From the 80’s style music to the slick city at night scenery this movie is not your average dramatic chase flick. Ryan Gosling nails the part of the quite, brooding, good guy stuck in a bad situation role. He doesn’t say much while at the same time emoting everything he needs to with his clenched jaw and intense eyes. Not to mention he looks imminently cool in his silver scorpion jacket (which I now need!) and shades. This movie totally makes me wanna find some attractive bad boy and hit the highway!

Ps. If you find out you really need that Scorpion jacket a replica is available online at http://www.getgoretro.com/DriveScorpionJacket.htm

“In the flashbulbs of the pretty cameras”

Here’s another picture from my photo-shoot with Mike Chard (for my modeling portfolio). I really like this one because it has that “behind the scenes”/paparazzi feel, yet it’s totally glamorous at the same time! I still haven’t seen most of my photos from the shoot so fingers crossed they look ok, and I eventually get some jobs!

♬”Red jeans, white shirt “♫

I’m going to see my lovely friend perform in the school musical today so I wanted to wear something cute to the performance! Of course I could have just worn the same outfit I wore to school but hey, that’s too boring for a fashionista such as I! I paired my red skinnies with my new bustier’ish top from American Eagle. I also topped it off with a cross necklace to give it that “Material Girl” vibe! Oh, and don’t forget the large messy bun!

Double Take: Rings

I wandered into Claire’s this weekend with two of my lovely friends and was very surprised to find two items Ive been searching for! Two finger rings! More specifically, a cross double ring and a “Bad” ring a la Lana del Rey. I must say I was extremely excited to find the ghetto fab “Bad” ring…I can now pair it with my heart-shaped sunglasses and look totally “Lolita in the hood”! Yes, I must admit I’m obsessed!
